Just before 1100, District 6 was alerted of a house fire on the 200 block of Crown Point Rd. 614 arrived on location first and confirmed heavy fire from division “C.” Initial reports were that someone one was still in the residence at the time of the fire, that later was determined false. Crews from 614 and 511 (Woodbury) stretched two 1 3/4 hand lines through the front door to the rear of the dwelling were the bulk of the fire was located on the first floor. Ladder 666 was ordered to the roof to vent the roof. Additional resources from the cover companies were brought in for man power striking the 2nd alarm bringing in Rescue 2118 (Gibbstown), Engine 912 and Ladder 926 (Deptford), Engine 812 (National Park), Engine 733 (Westville) and Engine 2212 (Mantua) Additional cover companies were brought in to cover the township. The fire was quickly brought under control, two fire fighters were transported to an area hospital for minor injuries both are expected to make a full recovery. The fire is currently still under investigation by the WDFMO and the GCFMO. A special thank you to all the companies who responded to assist in the operations including Rehab 13 out of Cherry Hill.
