This morning around 0900 District 6 was dispatched to the 400 block of Red Bank Ave in the Verga section of town for a working house fire. The residence was unoccupied at the time of the fire. 632 and 614 arrived and stretched two hand lines to the fire. Additional crews arrived and opened up the structure for ventilation. The fire was contained to the residence and no other homes were damage. No injuries occurred during the incident. The fire is under investigation by the WDFMO, GCFMO and WDPD.
On a side, a special thank you to the cover company of 6-1, Gibbstown Station 21-1. When the initial call went out members were in station prepping for today’s oyster supper. When rescue 2118 arrived to cover the station they jump right in and began helping with padding oysters. Thank you again.
